The Expendables

IN THE EXPENDABLES 3, Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team come face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill… or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables — but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables’ most personal battle yet. --- Lionsgate
Expendables in action

By Rick - THE EXPENDABLES 3 is another mindless shoot’em up fun movie. The third outing is 126 minutes of action, explosions and stunts. It has just enough story to keep you engaged but we all know this film is about one liners, guns, and hand to hand combat.
It was nice to see Wesley Snipes. He did his Japanese jujitsu instructor the late great Master Moses Powell justice in his fight scenes. Snipes tried his best to use THE EXPENDABLES 3 as his vehicle to bigger and better things. His gamble might just work.
The only weak moment in the movie was the introduction Luna played by Ronda Rousey. Trying to doll her up in a skin tight red dress and have her fight drunks in a bar was a terrible decision. You could tell that her martial arts experience and skills were nullified by her high heel shoes and short outfit. She looked awkward and they tried to hide it with bad camera angles and awful edits. She has true martial talent. They should have put her in regular bouncer gear and showcased her skills.
THE EXPENDABLES 3 is a entertaining movie. It dawned on me while watching the motion picture that THE EXPENDABLES is Sylvester Stallone’s CANNONBALL RUN. He is doing just what Burt Reynolds did back in the day and that is to get your friends together, have fun, and shoot a senseless movie.

By Tony - “Sly” Stallone is hands down the king of the sequels with his third installment of the Expendables. In “EXPENDABLES 3” the story continues to follow the plot of a true man’s film. The movie has explosions, fighting, guns and the hot chick played by none other than the attractive Ronda Rousey. I guess since they exploited Gina Carrano it was inevitable that Rousey would get a shot at showcasing her skills in a movie role. Ronda Rousey's presence on screen impressed. It was not over done with too many lines and she was set free to show what she could do with fight scenes later in the movie. I am in agreement with Rick about the first look at Rousey. Who thought that wearing a tight dress and high heels was a good idea. They were grasping at straws. Had they never has seen a female bouncer before? A woman in high heels bouncing is just silly. The movie didn't need it.
It was good to see Wesley Snipes and Antonio Banderas. Both men got a shot at keeping their careers afloat. Dolph Lundgren played a decent role, thankfully he did not have much to say. Yin Yang (Jet Li) was missed in the action but shows up later. Yang is now working with Trench (Arnold Schwarzenegger) because he pays better. This being a throwback to Expendables 2 where Yang complained the whole movie that he needed more money.
For a shoot em’ up flick this one is up there. I look forward to the next chapter in the Expendables Saga. I wonder what mission the team will take up next?
